I believe he has one deaf ear that is largely due to Keith's blowing up his drum kit on "The Smothers Brothers Show". On the last normal reunion tour (not the later "Quadrophenia" tour), he was supposed to play mostly accoustic as a result of this. But when they played here, he mostly played a Strat... it was the perfomance that he ran his hand through with his whammy bar doing his spinning arm thing.

Indeed, but since, unlike Led Zeppelin, they did not disband after their drummers death. They moved directly on and released another album with Kenney Jones in the drum role. This makes that a fairly irrelevant issue.

I'm not suggesting that the whole thing is a particularly good idea. Personally, I'd rather see a Townsend solo show then a Who show at this point in history.
