Dogma’s 13th Apostle Speaks Out
Comedian Chris Rock, who plays the 13th
Apostle in the upcoming film Dogma, describes
the Kevin Smith comedy as a combination of
Star Wars, The Ten Commandments, and
Romeo and Juliet.
Dogma follows angels Matt Damon and Ben
Affleck’s efforts to re-enter heaven by way of
New Jersey. This lighthearted approach to
religion has garnered a degree of pre-release
criticism from some religious groups. “Anyone
who judges something they haven’t seen is an
idiot,” Rock says. “I don’t talk about anything I
haven’t seen. History tells us that anyone that
talks about something they haven’t seen, or
heard, read is an idiot.”
