All I can say is I'm sorry. Didn't mean to stir up this whole can of words and I didn't mean to make you question is this whole Askew community thang worth it. Was I harsh in my review? Yeah. Was it dumb of me to come up with conjecture why the book was late or (in my opinion) "not great"? Yeah. It was a prick thing to do. I didn't realzie I was coming off as an "arbiter of fact". I thought everyone would assume that what appeared in my post was my opinion and that was it. That's why I got so mad at Gaidin last night. I aired an opinion and he/she "conjectured" about the reasons why I didn't like the book. I took me a while to realize that I did basically the same fucking thing to you.
This board is a weird place. The WWW boards are traditionally places where people can mouth off and praise or criticize whatever they please. You don't normally have to worry about people's feelings. I can go to the Wizard boards and rip on ol' John Byrne for hours and never have to worry that Beardy will actually show up and be offended that I hated Danger Unlimited.
I will fully admit that I handled this situation like a prick. I didn't like the book, but "lazy" was a loaded and thoughtless word to use.
Add it up to our society's complete detachment when it comes to people in the public eye...or that I'm a salad-tossing asslicker. Either will suit me fine.
Once again, I'm sorry I pissed you off. I know things must be hectic as fuck for you right now and the last thing you need is a poncy little flamer putting you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. Good luck with Dogma (I can't wait) and I truly am a big fan of your comic work (I just read you intro to Preacher: Until the End of the World last night and...it made me smile). Keep up the good work and please give small allowances for those who don't think completely before they post. It's too damn easy to put something out there that you can't take back. Oh well, all my best.
