: Yeesh! I feel like I should apologize in advance for soiling one of Kevin's posts with this, but...

: Kevin wrote: : The moral of the story is - Don't Read The Script In Advance. It taints your view of the film. Let the director (who is also the screenwriter) decide what should and shouldn't be in the final print. We're releasing this version (which IS the director's cut) for a reason: this is the movie. The script isn't the movie.

: Neil wrote: I seem to recall saying something about the theatrical cut being the "director's cut"... when was that? Oh, yeah... after someone suggested that saying that was "pedantic". You're not being pedantic now, are you Kevin?

: No, Kevin didn't say that. He said that the version he completed should be considered the Director's Cut. So he doesn't believe that any of the cut scenes were taken out without his express approval. Hence the release = the Director's Cut. Ain't always true, is true here.

I never even suggested that it was always true. It seems like it all centered around DOGMA back when you said it was "pedantic", though. Am I wrong about that?

: Dog me all you want, Neil, you're still wrong.

No, I most certainly am not.

: Yeesh! Why do I bother. Glutton for punishment, I guess.

I don't know why you don't bother to pay attention and reply to specific points rather than yammering on the same old easily dismissed arguments.
