Actually Ben Affleck's name is being tossed around at Warner Bros. to possibly don the cowl of the Dark Knight and bring the Batman franchise back to life. They have a choice of two scripts so far. One would be a Frank Miller Year One adaption (hope hope!) and the other would be based on the storyline for Batman Beyond, the kiddie series is proving pretty popular and would be a convenient way for the WB to make Batman....hip. All I can say is greenlight any Frank Miller Batman script forget all the other Batman candidates including:David Duchovny, Mark Wahlberg, and Kurt Russell. The only other name for the role besides Ben that I somewhat agree with is Ryan Philippe, in an interview with SKY magazine he said "Warner Bros asked me if he would bulk up for four months if he was offered the role of the caped crusader. They had seen my skinny ass in Cruel Intentions I guess. And I said no, I would bulk up in two months."
