That'd be a good theory if all three films were owned by the same company and could have been released in that order. However, the three week difference in street date for Clerks and Mallrats was most likely coincidental. The Clerks DVD was fairly easy to produce, and the Mallrats DVD all of the features were made specifically for it. Whereas the Amy disc requires liscencing of material from Criterion
So be patient.
