It's true, it's true....and you weren't supposed to say anything!!! I guess I'm outed now. ;-(
That aside, I was thoroughly impressed with the huge crowd at the screening. On the bus ride home I talked to one of the guys who runs these little screenings at SFSU and he said this was the second fastest tix have been snatched up (after Waterboy). And, they usually make viewers fill out little opinion cards but didn't this time. His theory is that they already figure the movie is going to be a complete hit so they don't need the formality of opinion cards. Let's hope!
On Dogma....I can't adequately express how...brain not able to put emotions into words....simply put....I can't f#ckin' wait to see it again. It was terribly agonizing not to be able to talk to any friends about it the minute I got home because it doesn't even come out for a coule days and yet totally thrilling to not have to wait a couple days to see it. Yes, I'm a babbler...Justin Sane can confirm. All in all, this was my favorite ViewAskew endeavor and among my top favorite movies ever for two simple reasons:
1. Mr. Smith made no compromises! He tells it like it is and criticized some of my most hated entities (and I'm not talking about the Catholic church because I don't think it was particularly critical of those folks). I even talked to two of my Environmental Studies teachers about it and convinced them to go see it - but that's another story.
2. After seeing the behind-the-scenes pics on the Dogma website and then seeing the movie, I can see how amazing movie magic really is and what a master Mr. Smith is.
