Thank You Kevin and Co! Excellent job on Dogma! The third time I took my friend Virginia with me. She came within about 2 years of becoming a full nun- and she LOVED IT! She said the only bashing the church takes is really just a bashing of the Old Church and it was a well-deserved thing! ;-)
I've read some of the other questions about plot/resolutions and have a few 2 cents myself to add:
1. Did anybody notice God (as a man) check his watch just before the Triplets come into view? This says to me that God KNEW of all that was to come and ALLOWED His/Herself to be put out of commission to satisfy a number of prayers, ie: Bethany wanted proof that God existed, loved her, she wanted a baby; Bartleby & Loki wanted to go home ; Azrael wanted to go back to non-existance; all others proved their potential to themselves & God.
2. I think Bartelby & Loki were forgiven and returned to Heaven. They both showed repentance before death, and God IS known for forgivence right? Also Azrael was sent back to nothingness via blessed club.This does NOT prove God falliblie however, because God is doing the sending directly, not because of a human church law.
3. God set everything back to the way things were before the angels started their pilgrimage, except for those left standing in her presense- after all, what would be the point of giving Solid proof that You exist knowing that it would just cause more stupidity (read: violence,forced beliefs,etc.)on the part of humanity? Best to let things take their natural progression for those still exploring their faith or lack thereof. Freewill Rocks!
4. God KNEW she'd give Jay a stiffy! ;-* She wanted him to feel secure about his sexuality!
