I don't think they are the same house. I'm pretty sure (but going on memory) that the house used in Clerks was that of Kevin's friend named Ed Hapenstack. We stopped outside it during the Stash Bash tour and his mom waved (in fact, the motorcycle in Clerks was hers).
I want to say the house for Mallrats would have been filmed in either Minnesota or California. I thought I remembered that the only thing filmed in NJ was the exterior of the "dirt mall."
