: Yes, how dare someone actually try to INTERPRET the film?

I agree. That was going to far suggesting that making ones own interpretation was wrong some how.

However, calling the interpretations made completely insane is not out of bounds, as they were nearly all out of left field. Almost like taking a really insightful analysis of TAXI DRIVER and changing the names to characters in GONE WITH THE WIND and explaining your interpretation of GONE WITH THE WIND. It just would confound everyone who had seen GONE WITH THE WIND and irritate a substantial portion of them.

I believe that's something like what happened here.

: To call this post "ugly" is a riot considering the amount of garbage posts that end up here. I haven't seen the film myself, so I can't comment on whether "Zos" is right or wrong, but his post had a lot more thought put into it than 9/10ths of the stuff here and frankly he should be applauded for posting something other than "Kevin, that film ROCKED MAN!!!"

Well, it took thought, I'll agree. I'm not sure how serious and/or reasonable that thought was however.

: who encourages all thoughts and opinions on films and actually wonders what Kevin Smith thinks of the original post.

Don't disagree with that. I do agree that we should all question people's thoughts, if only to get them to explain them better. I'd certainly be interested in hearing Zos' answers to my questions. I meant them quite seriously.

And... I'd also be very interested to hear Kevin's thoughts on this interpretation. Very, very much so.
