Try reading Robert Rodriguez's book, it provides a great look at how he funded and made El Mariachi.
Also check out "Feature Filmmaking At Used Car Prices" one of the top books on low budget filmmaking.
I also suggest doing research online. There are a lot of resources on filmmaking...
and finally go out and do it. the best way to learn is by doing.
