: I was watching the Mallrats DVD with commentary track and when Kevin talked about plans to make a Mallrats sequel, (which have been changed from movie to comic) I thought that a movie would be better ... I think that out of all his movies Mallrats is definitely the funniest in terms of laughs, and reactions to Dogma from friends of mine is that it is good but Mallrats was better. I was just interested to see how many people out there would also like to see a sequel to Mallrats on the Big Screen rather than in a comic book.

While it'd be cool to see Lee in action again as Brodieman, I'd like to see Kevin try something different. I mean, he's already working on Clerks 2 and as a rising writer/filmmaker you can only go to the well so many times. I think a Mallrats sequel in comic book form would be better in overall quality, there wouldn't be any bad reviews from movie critics, and no more wasting Universal's money. Gonna be hard to find someone to support a sequel of a movie that didn't fair well the first time around.

As much as us hardcore fans and rentalites loved Mallrats, sadly the general public didn't grasp it for the fun movie that it was. A sequel isn't going to help it. Plus comics are cool dude. They're the perfect medium to tell another story in the Askewniverse without putting the time and money into making another film (i.e. Clerks Holiday Special.) anyhoo, just my nickel and dime.
