::i just got finished watching the Mallrats DVD. no matter what anybody says that is one funny-ass movie. but watching it now only makes me ready for the Dogma DVD and all of it's extra footage.(we know there's a lot)

I'd completely agree that Mallrats is funny as shit and the DVD was amazing (kudos again, Vincent) BUT I think the really interesting thing about the Mallrats DVD is how completely NOT funny the extra scenes are.

I mean, Kevin said that the twenty-minute opening didn't get one laugh at their first test screening and I can see why. I spent the whole scene groaning and going "So, this is why Michael Rooker didn't get more screnn time!" And, although he completely MAKES the movie for me, the other Jason Lee voice-overs (from the omitted beginning) bring to mind the terribly montone Harrison Ford voice-overs in Blade Runner.

Kevin made come great decisions when it came to cutting Mallrats. I love the flick and I even love the bad cut scenes they give you a great insight into the filmmaking process. I wonder how many of the cut Dogma scenes will follow this path? As far as I'm concerned, all of the scenes cut from 'Rats should stay cut, but (for those of you who have seen the long version Dogma) I wonder which cut scenes are keepers and which one will just be interesting to see on the DVD.
