I think it is necessary for selling tickets. Clerks came out in 94, Clerks 2 will most likely come out in 2001 or 2002, people forget shit real quick in the video world, I know, I used to work at a video store. Theater goers want big names and Kevin knows this. Not everyone is a Askew head like us here at this board and seeing O'Halloran and Anderson in the leads most likely they will see something else.
