: I was curious about something in Dogma (as is the trend on the board these days). During the bar scene where Lee is holding everyone hostage and is waxing Bond villain-esque about the imminent destruction of existence, Jay is shown in the background with his head down, sleeping. This was apparently noticed by my friend and I alone, as no one else in the theater laughed, but I was wondering if that was scripted because I read somewhere that Mewes was practically a narcolept due to his random sleeping patterns. So was the shot of Jay sawin' logs an intended laugh-getter to show his lackadaisical manner in even the most dire situations or did Mewes just happen to zonk out during shooting?

I caught that the first time I saw it and figured it was just a telling of Jay's short attention span and a laugh-getter. . It's actually funny there's one scene where he is visibly sleeping through Azraels speech and then is awake, and is asleep again. Kinda noticable cut but enjoyable too .He also shows disinterest/lackadasical manner in the campfire scene in the woods as Bob notions to Jay to check out what's being said.
