: back when "history of the world" was released, does anybody know if all the conservatives got into a big fit because mel brooks jokingly suggested that moses originally had more than ten commandments.. but.. he was a clutz and dropped them (i'm starting to giggle just thinking about that scene)?
(that was damn funny, i luv mel brooks) anyway. i doubt that the conservatives said anything because it wasn't actually jesus or god or mary being refered to, only moses. (and they didn't complain about 10 commandments either- so i figure only the major players- biblically speaking- are the ones they're worried about).
although i'm sure there was uproar with life of brian ("he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!"). ( i love monty python too )
;)
