: : I popped THE WIZARD OF OZ into the VCR. A highly enjoyable film, as all
: of you know (and if you don't, allow me to kick over the fucking rock).
: However, halfway through the film, as I saw the image of Dorothy,
: Scarecrow, Tinman, and the Lion marching to Emerald City, a bizarre analogy
: clicked into my head:
: : Dorthy: Scarecrow, Tinman, and the Lion::Bethany:Jay, Silent Bob, and
: Rufus.
: You're not too high. There are some strong resemblances (in fact, we're
: looking into legal action right now.)
: The main likeness I'm looking for is that annual airing of 'Dogma' on
: network t.v. I grew up watching 'The Wizard of Oz' once a year on CBS.
: How sweet would it be if kids grew up watching 'Dogma' once a year on the
: same network.
: Now who's on the pipe?

I know you've said this many times, but i could definatly see the mage influence. Sort of with Metron as mirth, Bethiny as Matchstick (only biblical rather than mythological) and everyone else as the crew. Aslo, the scene in the woods with Bethany and Metron really reminded me of Mage #14, one of my favorite issues in the series, and one of my favorite scenes in the movie.
