: The media and everyone else keeps saying that most fans of Kevin's films are kids and teens, ages ranging from 12 to 18. Is it just me, or is that not right at all? Most of the regulars here are well above those ages, and frankly I think most of Kevin's movies are too high-brow for the 12- to 14-year-old set. Am I right or what?

It seems to me that Kevin's films aren't really aimed at a particular age group, but more of a particular mindset. A friend's father (around age 60) absolutely adores Kevin and all his work (even Mallrats. We're talking diehard fan here), but that same friend's younger brother, who's around 24, just doesn't understand the appeal. So I think it takes a certain mindset to appreciate Kevin's work.
That's just my opinion, though.
