Hi, Most likely I don't think you'll ever get to my message, but I felt it had to be written. I need to give thanks to you and John Hughes for making my life a little more tolerable. Being part of the so called generation X I missed my calling as an 80s teenager by a few years. I think the reason why I like the that time period so much is due to John Hughes. He made films that help me convey my emotions during my adoloescence. Most importantly I knew that I wasn't alone in the emotions. That I think is the most important thing for a kid to know. You have once again renewed this feeling in me. Especially with Dogma. I too am a Catholic but I question faith and beliefs. Your film had many points in it that I have pondered since I was 12. By the way I'm 17 now. Glory Daze (That's one of your's right) also relieved me of the lonely pressure I felt. I'm asian so that movie illustrated my situation perfectly. Although I don't plan to become some party freak I do live my life with less fear now. Many people criticize films and television and tell people to pick up books. But I have read my fair share of classics, and neither Melville, Welles, Angelou, nor Cisneros; can portray life with such simple honesty as people like you do in about an hour and a half. Thank you ver much. P.S. Why is John Hughes doing all these childrens movies, he should have kept doing movies that actually have true meaning. Are simple things like romance and friendship too good for him now? Anyways, thanks.
