First off I am not Catholic, but have been a faithfull church goer until recently. The reason this film is being attacked by religious groups is that it hits a little too close to home. Organized religion is on a downturn, with fewer and fewer attending. My reason for not attending, along with a large number of my friends, is that the current 'church', although having a good foundation, is crumbling, and the leaders, instead of completely rebuilding their religions from the original beliefs, and bringing back the members they have lost, are just 'patching-up' their religion and focusing it on the current members. That is why the movie is disliked by the CL. Kevin, through DOGMA, has pointed this fact out to everyone, and has reinforced it with former members of major religions of the world. Leaders do not like to have their errors pointed out to them.
We have not lost our faith, just our faith in the 'Church'.
(or am I completely wrong ??)
