I think that it would be a mistake to go back to Dante and Randal in Clerks 2. First, we have already tackled a day in the life of these two, and secondly, if you read the original screenplay by Kevin, you will notice that Dante is killed in a robbery at the end. "I'm not even supposed to be here today" to the ironic extreme. I think that Kevin's use of Dante as a gag character in the movies (Gil Hicks, and the news guy named Hicks in Dogma) is a better ploy.
I do look forward to see what Kevin will tackle next. The only things that seem to be left after employment, romance, and religion seem to be politics and death. Kudos to Kevin and co. for making some great films and I hope they continue to crank out such hilarious, yet thought provoking material for decades to come.
