: : : Excellent Movie
: : : Great Casting of Alanis Morrisette in a Non-Speaking Role
: : : How ironic. Was this done intentionally?
: : ...but I'm tired of the "Isn't that ironic" joke about Alanis.
: Is that the extent of the supposed irony? That's lame.
: If she was known as a great orator, then it would be ironic... something along the line of Marcel Marceau's line in SILENT MOVIE.
: However, this understanding of the word irony doesn't seem substantially less developed than Ms. Morrisette's so I'll let it go.
I take offence at my inferred lack of understanding of irony. Her fame is based on a song IRONIC, which demonstrates no irony whatsoever. The only ability she is known for is singing, the ultimate expression of a gift from God, i.e. "sings like an angel". Her movie role excludes her use of this ability.
