There seems to be a general consensus that when you die (human, angel, or demon), you'll be sent back to heaven or hell, but there ARE two other options.

Purgatory: The Catholics especially are real big on this one. The souls of Loki and Bartleby would be forever stuck in Purgatory since they can't enter heaven, and surely won't go to hell (yeah, right). This is the nicer of the two options for the hopeless optimists.

Removed from existence: There seem to be very few people who are open to the idea that Loki & Bartelby were removed from existence. But I believe this to be the case. Let's take Azrael, for example. He thought he was immortal, because he was a Demon. There was NO way that he could have been destroyed. However, because Silent Bob whacked him in the chest with the Holy Club, he was, indeed, killed. Now if his (for lack of a better word) soul were to return to hell, then he's no worse for wear. He's still a demon, he's still in hell, he's right back where he started. It's kind of a silly little circle, isn't it? But if he is dead, Truly dead, REMOVED FROM EXISTENCE, if you will, he cannot come back. He is simply gone. End of story. I believe THIS is what happened to both Bartleby and Loki.
