: Indie flick directors stick with casts and ideas.
: Robert Rodriguez - the Latino/action/shootout/violent/fucking/badass/scene. And he always uses Salma Hayek.
: Quentin Tarantino - "gangster"/nior-esque shit with more violence. And he sticks to Kietel, Jackson, and (until Jackie Brown) Buscemi.
: Kevin Smith - the college scene. He gots Mewes and Lee and Affleck.
: Anyone think of anything else?
Edward Burns - The "young couples cheating on each other and pissing each other off movies". With himself, and Mike McGlone.
Paul Thomas Anderson - The people getting themselves into a lot of bad situations and then trying to get out of them. With Philip Baker Hall, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and William H. Macy.
Todd Solondz - The "everybody's lives are pathetic and twisted" films. I'm not sure if he recycles any of his casts.
Neil LaBute - The "30-somethings with psychological issues" films. With Aaron Eckhart.
