Actually Yoda was a Henson creation because Lucas asked Jim to construct him and do the voice. Jim passed on doing the voice because he was busy making the muppet movie, but he did supervise his construction in the creature shop.

: And just because something was created by Henson don't make it a muppet. Are the animals in BABE muppets? Are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Nuh-uh.

I'm not saying we should run around calling them all muppets now... I'm just saying they deserve to be technically acknowledged as such, at least for legal reasons.

He may not have been a muppet under your definition, but I'm pretty sure he was a Henson creation, unless you have proof to the contrary.
