I hope you're not actually trying to blame the protestors for what happened to you. Those people were there to make politicians and corporate interests more accountable to YOU and your fellow humans. They are there with no bad intentions. They certainly never did anything to get you shot. The folks who were committing crimes (vandalism and stealing and such) clearly were not an official part of the protest. Obviously they are fucked up idiots who probably had next to no interest in the protests themselves and were just there to be assholes. But pretty much everyone else there was peaceful and respectful, except for the cops. Those guys are the ones who are truly fucked up.
Great country we live in huh? When the cops get frustrated they take it out on everyone, and no one can stop them. And the forces that be pretty much suport this philosophy.
Sounds like you have a great case for a lawsuit. You're pretty much guarenteed to loose, but it'll make the cops squirm a bit. And that can't hurt.
