This is one of those situations where you wonder if the other person saw the same movie you did! One of the whole points to that movie was that you never get to know any of them. It's that whole "image" vs. "reality theme. What's real, what projected, especially when you filter everything through everyone's perceptions, including your own? BTW, Toni Collette (the mom from 6th Sense, Muriel's Wedding) is an Australian, or maybe New Zealander, who played an American who was trying to be British. If you ever watch it again, notice how her accent wanders in her conversations, it's amazing and utterly brilliant! It may be that you should have seen it in a darkened theatre first. But Velvet Goldmine is one of those films that stands up to repeated viewings very well. And that wonderful music! It ties with the Until the End of the World soundtrack as the best ever.

Hey, maybe someone can clear this up for me. It's a topic of debate in my group over whether the Thom Yorke on the soundtrack is that guy from Radiohead. Anybody know?

And Vincent, if you read this, have you ever seen Until the End of the world? Are you a fan of Wim Wenders?
Jocelyn, who also thinks it's amazing how Ewan looks so much like Kurt Cobain
