Elements of "Good Omens" in Dogma?

I was wondering if Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's "Good Omens" was an influence for Dogma. I noticed several things that were similar, ranging from character usage to general atmosphere of the movie.

If it was not an influence, has Kevin Smith read it?
