: if you haven't yet seen Kevins other movies, I encourage you to see them too. While the issues in the other flicks aren't as "deep" as Dogma, until you've seen Clerks, you will never have really thought about the fate of all the independent contractors who must have worked on the 1st Death Star.

Damn it, no independent fucking contractors worked on the Death Star. It was constructed (as a matter both of common sense and stated SW fact) by slave labor (remember Chewie being, yeah, a slave. Remember Ackbar, too, being...a slave) and, um, those robot things that were in nearly every scene of every movie, regardless of what planet anybody was on...DROIDS. I realize that this is a small/dorky matter, but let's get it right. I think the consensus at the time was basically, "Hey! That's clever, talking about the Death Star and all", but none of that matters if it's just plain wrong.

Like Emperor Palpatine - a ruthless galactic despot, mind you - actually pays some lowly-ass fucking workers. He's building a machine to instantaneously incinerate billions and billions of these motherfuckers any time he wants to, and he's going to pay them to help build it. My ass.
