Your best bet for trying to get your comic published is to go ahead and publish it yourself. Forget Marvel, DC, Image, etc, unless you're a famous comic book writer. They don't like to take chances on unknowns.

The best independent printer you're going to find is probably Brenner Printing (www.brennerprinting.com). They can print you comics, ashcans, magazines, prestige formats, card sheets, posters, and all kinds of other stuff. Their quality is very good, and companies like Harris Comics and Viz use them.

For distribution, you pretty much have to use Diamond (www.diamondcomics.com). There are a few other distributors out there, but if you want your comics to reach a good number of stores, Diamond is who you have to talk to.

For the actual production of the comics, I recommend Adobe Photoshop (www.adobe.com) for lettering/coloring/layout. It's expensive, but well worth it. There's another program out there called Quark, but I've never used it so I don't know much about it.

Hope that helps.
