: : I am interessted if Kevin felt at the age of 20, that he will be an succesful filmaker and comicwriter, or if he thought he`d rather be working at UPS or be a (watch out, gag) "Clerk" (ha). Cause I'm getting a lil'bit nevous about thinking of my future.
:)
I was nervous too (well, okay, still am). Your suppost to be. I'm still freaked out that I'm not a teen-ager anymore. My advice. Find something you wanna do, and do it. I wanna write movies: thus I'm working my ass off to do it. If you wanna be a clerk, send out resumees like crazy (try Sheetz, they hire. But since the decline of Sheetza Pizza they sorta suck).
And, contrary to popular belief, being a Clerk is fine. I've been a clerk since 1989 (ewww) in various fields, and sure there's some crap that goes along with it, but...hell, at least it's a job, right? Hell, I don't think it's an insult to Kevin at all. (I think you miss read, man) It most likely wasn't meant that way. And, um, what about UPS? No defense there? Kev..brown shorts...hmmm...
BTW: I don't think I'll be a Clerk in 10 years, but if I am, who cares as long as I'm happy?
anyhoo, find something you wanna do and do it. Put your whole heart and soul into it. Don't just sit on your couch and talk about making films, at least set up a video camera and video yourself sitting there talking about making films. It probably won't win an Oscar (though it might very well make it into Sundance), but at least it could modivate you. Hell, you'd learn about setting up a camera at the very least, right?
It's your life, do what you want (minus maming or killing others). Even if it seems impossible -- like playing Sega -- for a career.
I'm sure there's people who test the games or write them, or some guy who made it in the book of Records (Brodie?) for playing it the most. And you know where that guy is? Probably on Rosie, inspiring America and raking in the dough at public appearances. It's perspective man. And ambition. And a dream.
Think about your future and then put it into action.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show said it best: Don't dream it, be it.
I'm gonna go now and steal Anthony Robbin's gig. Hell, if that whinny-ass guy can do it and make millions, why spew advice on a board for free? ;)
Good luck to you, young sir :)
