Hmm.I finally saw Dogma. As a person exposed to many viewpoints, and a former agnostic turned Atheist,I wasn't immediately offended by Dogma. Most of faith immediately become incensed whenever somebody makes fun of their beliefs, without actually examining the actual content.A propensity,if you will,to become extremely angry at the merest THOUGHT of questioning the reality of religous views.Watching the religous channels around the South Bend,IN area holds a sick fascination for me.Rules are just built in to never, ever question what you know in your heart is just plain wrong.I get attacked when I say I'm an atheist. They say,"No,you're agnostic..you're just not sure..?" and I have to back up my lack of belief. The only thing that did bother me was the humour wasn't up to the quality of "Chasing Amy" or "Clerks" (the latter of which is one of my all time favourite movies).I wanted more of Silent Bob's incredible insights to
life,in one of his rare moments of speech.
Actually,Kevin, you did do a good job of examining some of the contradictions and the lack of logic that goes hand in hand with having deep religious convictions.Keep it up.
