Hey Duckman, don't be too discouraged. There's plenty of us who just don't quite have what it takes to be a big shot. It doesn't mean you can't have a pleasant career close to what you like.
For example, my story: As a young film student I was full of ideas about how I was going to be the next Lucas. Problem was, my writing is just about up to 'hack' standards. And I didn't relish spending the next ten years trying to do something that only a small portion of people actually succeed in. So I picked up a specialty in film finance and now have a good career in entertainment. No, I'll never be Kevin...but it's enough.
So get out there and find out what you're good at. Then keep doing it. If not film making, work at an equipment or prop house, or do marketing for films, or...well, you decide. Being at zero like you are is a powerful place - it makes you ready to reevalute everything and make some new decisions.
