It really is about the right people in the right situations neil, people talking? kevin never rights people talking, he rights people in a certain situation talking.
This thread was about mallrats dialogue, and anyone who feels like there local mall is a quasi scond hoome would get upset if something happened to it - take brodie and the whole stage incidnet when he first gets to the mall. Similar thing happened to me and my frineds when they redesgined the layout of our mall one day, our thoughts were semi eunanimous and out loud of "what the fuck is going on here?"
it does come down to people, some people will od this given the chance and some won't, you just have to know this kind of person
: : I know quite alot of people who talk just like certain characters in Kevin's movies. As for all the vocab, philosophy, and other assorted things, my friends and I have quite a large varied vocabulary, and we love to get philosophical about stuff.
: Just the cadence. The lack of thought pauses. The steady assault. None of it has any resemblance to reality. This isn't because I don't know the right people. I've know a lot of different kind of people. You just imagine your conversations as more filled in then they are... something like if I draw a circle with three dots and a line, you automatically see a face.
: If you don't believe me, tape a real conversation between your friends when they don't know and listen to it later. It will be filled with "umms" and pauses and fidgets and things that Kevin simply doesn't include in his films.
: If somehow it makes you feel all cool and shit to feel otherwise, that's fine.
