i know that i'm the youngin of the group but i think that PJ is absolutely right. although some may dub kevin's tight and ultra witty dialogue as everyday-ish...they would be wrong. i'm sorry to point this out to our starving actress and seemingly unobservant writer. However if you realise one thing about kevin smith it's that he is one the best up and coming screen writers we've seen and therefore his style can be immitated but never duplicated. the fact of the matter is, PJ is right, no one talks like Dante and Randall. the key is to make dialogue sound normal by fitting it in with certain phrases here and there that remind the audience that this person is in fact real, and to connect the audience to the characters.
