I agree that Cleese is no Q, but I gotta admit I can't think of anyone I'd rather see in his shoes.
I think TWINE did a nice job mixing a Q phase-out with a Q goodbye. Actually, I give the producers a lot of credit for having the foresight to deal with Desmond's age.
Still... I'll never look at an Aston-Martin with ejector seats and stingers missiles under the headlights the same way again.
