A very general filmaking question for Kevin or anyone else who knows:

I've seen a camera "trick" in a bunch of movies where something dramatic happens and the camera seems to zoom IN on the background but remain at about the same place with the person in the foreground (sometimes the person in the foreground is zoomed out from while the background is zoomed in on.) I hope I am being clear enough, I've see this happen in a bunch of films and it looks pretty cool, One example is in "12 monkeys" when Bruce willis is in the 1990 jail cel wearing a clear plastic raincoat, he's doped up and out of it and that camera trick happens to convey that.

Thanks in advance.
