The storytelling technique of using dream-like hallucinations is brilliant. The metaphors are brought to life. In general, the movie is very funny and is a relevant view of the future. I had a friend (who did not like the movie as much as I) say it was like Monty Python on acid. Its quite true - the same silly sense of humour with the bite of satire and social commentary. My favorite quote:

Bill, Department of Works: "Mistakes? We don't make mistakes."
(puts in the plug to fill the hole they've just cut in the floor. It falls through with a crash)
Charlie, Department of Works: "Bloody typical, they've gone back to metric without telling us."
