... you can see the entire script for an issue of Sandman (the Calliope story), and compare it to the finished story. Sounds like you're writing "full script" (as opposed to the "Marvel method", in which the writer does a plot, then the penciller draws the story, then the writer adds the dialogue). Neil Gaiman wrote Sandman "full script", so taking a look at one of his scripts should help.
