i'm not trying to dis you here, but i'm really curious. your movies don't seem to have any sort of visual style. and your scripts always seem to read a lot better than they end up on screen. the emphasis always seems like it's on the lines themselves instead of their delivery. you seem like a really cool guys and you've obviously got a lot of great ideas. it just seems like your talents would be better served if you were a novelist or something. what made you want to make movies?
also, i can't resist throwing in my two cents about magnolia. for those of you who had done your homework, you'd realize that paul thomas anderson isn't stealing from martin scorsese and robert altman. he's stealing from truffaut, godard, and robert downey sr. then again, who hasn't? comparing paul thomas anderson to scorsese is just lazy. people said the same thing about tarantino when pulp fiction came out. the fact is, everyone is influenced by everyone else. that's the way it works. paul thomas anderson's movies have an enthusiasm for moviemaking as an artform that most modern movies (including kevin's) lack.
