Ithink that, especially considering that we will soon have Clerks 2, it would be best to leave a Mallrats sequal for at least a couple of years, otherwise all these Jay and Bob-type films will really have put Kevin in a hole - possibly with fans as well as critics. Think about it - it would get really boring if more variety wasn't put into his films.
What I would like to see is Kevin Smith films that strayed from comedy even moreso than Amy and Dogma, possibly with an all-out drama or thriller! Then, once there's been a break, we would be ready to welcome back those wacky adventures from the Askewniverse.
I also think that it would be best to have more of a 'follow-up' than a 'sequal' to Mallrats, since another movie about a bunch of slackers running around a mall might get a bit tiresome, especially regarding the 'where are they now?' ending on the original(although we all know that Kevin would be able to put an original spin on things).
What I personally would *love* to see is a movie all about Brodie as host on the Tonight Show! That would be a great way to follow the adventures of our beloved characters further withut seeing the same sort of thing all over again. Maybe it could be done in a Spinal Tap-seque documentary style!
