I gotta say I didn't like the actual film MallRats. I didn't hate it either. I thought the writing was cool, and some of the characters were entertaining but it didn't have the laid back feel I would like. It seemed more like a WB show than a movie. That said I would like to see you do a sequel. From what I saw in "Dogma" your directing is getting cleaner and crisper and I think the premise of Mallrats or the "setting" is too creamy to pass up.
I don't want to get off on a rant here. I just feel Jay & Silent Bob work best as intercalorie chapters, secondary characters. I don't want an entire movie based on them. The reason most of us like the bad guys is we never see them that much. The reason Leonardo Dicaprio was so acclaimed in Gilbert Grape is he got to come in do his shit and take off and left the work to Johnny. There shouldn't be a movie about Ducky or Master Blaster so why Jay & Silent Bob. Have them in it of course but give us the sophrotes hero that we all want and need.
