I grew up in the States and moved to the UK last year. It has been a great source of irritation that movies are released months in advance in the US before the UK. Dogma, for example was not even a whisper in the wind in the UK when I came over to visit my folks for Thanksgiving, where of course you know, it was already in theaters. My husband and I decided to see it based on cast and director alone and knew nothing of the film. I heard there was some controversy. I am back State-side again visiting, and it is only just now that the movie is being released in the UK. Why is that? What is the point of the gap? It's not like it needs to dubbed.
