: Dear Kevin, I realize you probably get all kinds of messages so I
: understand if you don't want to help me out,
probably not that he doesn't want to help you, it's probably just that he doesn't know what to say.
But I for one have never been accused of that, so here we go:
: do you need to go to school for something like this or do you just
: start writing and sending scripts to people?
Simmer down now. First get an idea. Write an outline (cue cards are amazing). Write character bios. Research: try to do something new
(ie. not a script about a comicbook writer named Cawfield and his best friend Depoty who end their friendship because Cawfield falls in love with a lesbian named Anyssa who's high school nickname was "Double Dip")
Find out about form. Write a script. rewrite it. Get someone (anyone) to read it. rewrite it. let it mature liek a bottle of fine wine. rewrite it again.
This is what I suggest for the first one. After that what you do is your style.
And yes, film school (primarily screen writing classes) are invaluable. Not always necisary, but good nonetheless.
: The reason I am asking you is because I really don't know who else to
: ask.
Gee thanks. just kidding. if you need more help, click the link on my name above and e-mail it to me.
: I would really appreciate some information on preparing scripts, what to do once you have prepared a script, and any other information that is key.
It's too complicated to put here. If you want some real honest help from some one who's been there, write me a letter ;)
: By the way, "Love those dick and fart joke's!"
Me too Ron, we too.
Most Sincerely;
