I too feel the pain of sitting behind the counter, wondering about the guy who just bought a refillible butane lighter because I told him it was the same one the astronauts used, and trying to make the best out of a minimun wage job punching on the cash registar. Today I spent half of my paycheck on the Mallrats DVD that I have been coventing for a few weeks. I had the movie in my hand as I rode up the elevator to my dorm room. Everybody in the elevator with me noticed my purchase and all of the sudden became my friends. The guy carring the gym bag, the pocket protecter weilding computer guy, and the blond with the sorority sweater on all wanted to come up to my room get a digital peak at the movie. There is a huge following that is ready for a second helping. I myself could handle a couple more fight scenes between Afflek and Lee. Just think how fun it is to watch Spaceghost and Zorak go at it. There is a large comparison there. Mallrats will always be that one of those movies that when you are looking through your video library and nothing much looks good, you can pop it in and have a smile. Myself and many others could really go for some more of that.
