Mallrats was and still is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, and despite the thrashing it got from critics, the fans love it, like you said it found it's audience, and a huge one it was, on video and dvd. most of my friends who have seen it love it, and they arent even gay for you like I am (said too much maybe???)
anyway, yes, make it, MALLRATS 2 would be fantastic, and if you decide not to make it, AT LEAST give us one more flick, PLEASE!!!! starring, Jay and Silent bob, the goddamned funniest comedy duo since abbott and costello, you guys rock! and thats my two cents
