: : Although I see Paul wished testicular cancer on David Fincher in a 'Rolling

: I'm sure you'll remember that he blasted Fight Club in the issue of Creative Screenwriting that you were in too, Kev.

Okay, before I say this, I agree that he is a self-important fucker with delusions of originality.
*But* ... it's kinda unfair to criticize him for having issues with making light of cancer. According to an interview I read with him in the back of the Magnolia screenplay [note: I go to NYU, and am, by my count, the only person to not use the words 'brilliant' or 'genius' to describe Magnolia, so I have a lot of access to the screenplay book ... I wanted to see how many times he told the story about the song with the line "now that you've touched me, can you never see me again?" or whatever ... it was three, including one point where he used it to insult Bob Dylan music in movies] the reason Magnolia had so much cancer in it was that that was what he was going through at the time. So, if he's really touchy about cancer and sees a movie and people laugh at the parts about cancer, y'know, it's possible he could have a right to be offended by that.
Wishing cancer is an extreme step, but he's got that 'extreme' image. *shrug*.

[As for the "Cider House Rules" thing, I'm sure P.T. just got really excited when he saw Harry's Ain't It Cool News thing that had it up for like everything and got bummed when it wasn't.]

[For the record, I wasn't huge on Fight Club either, but it was better than Magnolia for sure.]
