Ok, maybe the title was a little extreme (since I have no idea what goes through Kevin’s mind, or else I would have the wife and the millions, ok thousands) but you have to have a bright outlook on the future.
Sure Clerks TCS got a bad time slot, but that doesn’t mean death. Sienfeld was a Spring insert, and look how that show did. The askewuniverse has got the strongest following that it has ever had. I have been here for the past three years and since that time so many people have been here that the only person that I can remember is smalls (since he treated me like I was 12) and b. buster (remember when we all hated him). Now we (as the hard-core fans) have had the biggest success for one of Kevin’s movies ever, the duo has appeared in a 1# movie at the box-office, and probably greatest of all, the stable of the flicks (the stars) have gone on to do great things. I mean what is Ben’s asking price for a movie now? 10 million!! No matter what happens, Kevin and Affleck will always go together. The biggest thing that I like about Affleck is that he has never forgot how gave him is biggest break (well maybe at the Oscars).
Besides us (the hard-core fans) watching the cartoon series, we have all the pre-teen hormones of rage girls out there that will tune in just to hear Ben’s voice ( I can hear the ooh’s and ah’s now). Look at all that we (the hard-core fans) have done. We got the Mallrat’s DVD made, we have made this site (and Newsaskew) a major site for the inside for the news in Hollywood. As a team we can get this show some ratings (especially if any of you are in the Neilson's ratings poll) and enjoy it for at least a few months.
I live in Oklahoma and I never thought that there would ever be another Viewaskew fan. But I found that at about 1 out of 3 people have at least seen one of the movies and that 75% of them like the movies and wanted to borrow mine to watch the entire trilogy. Every time I wear my Clerks shirt out in public some girl (thank you Kevin) comes up to me and says “I love that movie” or “Did you see Dogma?” (strangely the only response that I ever have to come up with “I love that movie” is “thank you”, like I had anything to do with it)
There are people out there besides us (the hard-core fans), and they will watch the series, that is unless the weather is extremely nice. So this is to the worst summer weather that has ever hit the United States in the last 50 years. Let’s hope it puts the Grapes of Wraith to shame.
