It was just a guy's voice that said: "Clerks was animated before a live studio audience" and then a brief (about 20-30 seconds) intro for the characters and their voices.
Of course, it has the possibility to be a changing intro as the characters could be doing something different in their brief shots.
Or...this is the big one to remember...I could have been braindead from lack of sleep and only imagined the intro sequence. I have a feeling I was expecting one, and your mentioning it now made my brain toss something together.
Kevin? Cartoon-Guy? Any help?
