I was first introduced to Clerks in the summer of 1995. I was an Asst. Mgr. at my home town Domino's Pizza (aka the asshole of the pizza biz). After an unusually busy rush, one of my drivers utter the phrase, "This job would be great if it weren't for the fucking customers..". I laughed, asked him about the phrase and he told me about Clerks. I rented the film that night and laughed my ass off! I took over to a friends house two nights later, where I and about 15 of my closest friends(all in similiar lines of work) watched and laughed.
I've since moved on to semi-bigger and somewhat o.k. things--managing a 5 screen sub-run movie theatre in Dallas. For about a week now we have been running Dogma and, much to my joy, it has been our number one flick. The local college students (S.M.U. is almost within site of my theatre) have really been eating it up. I've had a few instances with some not-so-open-minded-people (I think their called Southern Baptists), but for the most part responses have been great.
I feel it has been a privilage to show a Kevin Smith film in my theatre and hope I get several more chances in the future....
Thanks Kevin!!!
